NABREC has been established for the purpose of allowing former staff of the National Australia Bank to maintain relationships that have been built over many years during their working careers.

Membership is open to all former NAB employees who served with the Bank for at least 15 years or with the founding banks, the National Bank of Australasia Limited (NBA) and The Commercial Banking Company of Sydney Limited (CBC Bank). Partners of former staff too, are most welcome to join.

Join us on the second Tuesday of each month (except January and July) at 11.15am at "The Arena", Ground floor, 700 Bourke Street, Docklands (Adjacent to Marvel Stadium) for our meeting and guest speaker.  Easy access by public transport directly opposite at Southern Cross railway station. Guest speakers usually accompany the meeting for short interesting presentations.  Lucky door prizes.  Drinks with nibbles are served after the meeting.

Whilst the years of age difference kept us from being close throughout our life, I really don't know now why?
However when I reflect on the precious times when we were able to be together, I really now miss you.
I know you were an amazing person Alan, and admired and loved by everyone who knew you.
My deepest, sincere sympathy to Carmel, Andrew, Michael and their families,

Alan had advised that his career highlights were: "Perhaps First management appointment to Toorak in 1970, then appointment to West End Branch, London 1971 for 3 years, back to Australia for Branch Management again, and then promoted to Regional Manager until retirement."

Son of Bob and May, brother to Maureen and Mary (dec.). Devoted husband of  Marie, beloved father of Michael, Leanne & John proud Papa to Erika,  Andrew, Nellie, Leah and Kate.  Alan passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving wife Marie and their three children, Michael, Leanne and John. Alan will be remembered as a quiet, gentle and thoughtful man with a great strength of character and faith. Never overbearing, yet always willing and available to lend a  quiet hand. He will for good reason, be remembered with great fondness by those who had the privileged to know him. He will forever remain in our memories and prayers.

SOCRATOUS,  Dominique (Donna) born 6 August 1956. Donna passed away peacefully after a long battle with MS on 14 July 2020.   She was a devoted wife to Socratis and a loving mum to Peter  (daughter-in-law to Angela), Katrina and Andrea. She was the beloved daughter of Andreas and Katerina Nicolaou and sister to Mary and Nick.   Donna was loved by so many, having committed her life to her family,  friends and charity. No matter the circumstances and challenges she faced, Donna lived her life with grace and dignity. She will always be loved and missed by all who knew her.   Private funeral arrangements to be made.

Requiem Mass for the Repose of the Soul of Richard McKinnon Hughes will be offered on  Tuesday, 30th June 2020. Commencing at 10.30am Private Cremation In lieu of flowers, donations to Peter MacCallum are appreciated. Due to the current Covid-19 restrictions, this is a PRIVATE Service. A public Memorial Service will be held at a later date.

Due to the current public health issues surrounding the COVID-19 outbreak, your Committee has made the regretful decision to cancel both the Committee and Member’s meetings until further notice.

We have not made this decision lightly, and have done so with the best intentions for the health and well being of our members. Your health is our prime consideration during this time.

We are taking a month by month approach.   We will continue to monitor the situation and keep you informed.
